  1. 1. A minimally invasive axial blood flow pump : an experimental and clinical study

    Författare :Urban Lönn; Howard Frazier; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Axial blood flow pump; Hemopump; LVAD; Beating heart CABG; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The first aim of this thesis was to evaluate a new minimally invasive axial blood flow pump for treatment of patients needing circulatory support after open heart surgery. This system, the Hemopump temporary cardiac assist device, is a very small catheter mounted intracorporeal pump, which is introduced transvalvularly into the left ventricle. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evaluation of a Laser Doppler System for Myocardial Perfusion Monitoring

    Författare :Carina Fors; Karin Wårdell; Henrik Casimir Ahn; Maria Lindén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser Doppler perfusion monitoring; myocardial microcirculation; coronary artery bypass graft; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery is a common treatment for patients with coronary artery disease. A potential complication of CABG is myocardial ischemia or infarction. In this thesis, a method - based on laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) - for detection of intra- and postoperative ischemia by myocardial perfusion monitoring is evaluated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Movement artifact reduction in laser Doppler blood flowmetry : myocardial perfusion applications

    Författare :MG Daniel Karlsson; Karin Wårdell; Knut Kvernebo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Laser Doppler perfusion monitoring (LDPM) and imaging (LDPI) enable assessment of tissue microvascular perfusion. The techniques are based on the Doppler broadening of the optical spectrum occurring when coherent laser light is scattered by moving red blood cells (RBC). LÄS MER
