21. Analytical tools for monitoring and control of fermentation processes
Sammanfattning : The overall objective of this work has been to adopt new developments and techniques in the area of measurement, modelling and control of fermentation processes. Flow cytometry and software sensors are techniques which were considered ready for application and the focus was set on developing tools for research aiming at understanding the relationship between measured variables and process quality parameters. 22. Growth rate control of periplasmic product retention in Escherichia coli
Sammanfattning : The recombinant product is secreted to the periplasm in many processes where E. coli is used as host. One drawback with secretion is the undesired leakage of the periplasmic products to the medium. The aim of this work was to find strategies to influence the periplasmic retention of recombinant products. LÄS MER
23. Bench-Scale Production of Heterologous Proteins from Extremophiles- Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris based expression systems
Sammanfattning : Over the past few years considerable research attention has been assigned to extremophiles as sources of extremozymes due to their applicability in industrial processes, and the development of eco-friendly technologies. The establishment of efficient production strategies for heterologous proteins is an empirical process requiring broad background knowledge on available expression systems together with their major advantages and shortcomings. 24. Traceability in continuous ore beneficiation processes using process mineralogy signatures
Sammanfattning : Traceability is the means to identify and follow real or imaginary lots through a process chain. It gives the opportunity to back-track a chain of events, or to predict process outcomes given the origin of a lot. Traceability can be used in different areas, e.g. LÄS MER
25. Drying of Multicomponent Liquid Films
Sammanfattning : The convective drying of thin layers of multicomponentliquid mixtures into an inert gas, and the influence ofdifferent process controlling mechanisms on drying selectivityis studied. Drying experiments under gas-phase-controlledconditions are performed by low intensity evaporation, fromfree liquid surfaces, of ternary mixtures without non-volatilesolutes. LÄS MER
