1. Supply Chain Inventory Control-Methods for Coordination and Evaluation
Sammanfattning : Thanks to the fierce competition and the globalization of markets as well as compa¬nies, supply chain management has emerged as one of the most urgent manage¬rial issues in business today. This thesis is devoted to one aspect of this vast problem area - the coordinated management/control of supply chain inventories. LÄS MER
2. Modeling Lateral Transshipments and Perishable Items in Inventory Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with two main areas in the field of stochastic inventory theory; ateral transshipments and perishable items. In the first part of this thesis we give an introduction to the field of inventory theory, and discuss some previous literature connected to the research presented in this thesis. LÄS MER
3. Packet Order Matters! : Improving Application Performance by Deliberately Delaying Packets
Sammanfattning : Data-centers increasingly deploy commodity servers with high-speed network interfaces to enable low-latency communication. However, achieving low latency at high data rates crucially depends on how the incoming traffic interacts with the system's caches. When packets that need to be processed in the same way are consecutive, i.e. LÄS MER
4. Nanocalorimetry of electronic phase transitions in systems with unconventional superconductivity and magnetic ordering
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, low temperature specific heat measurements on small (μg) single crystals of different superconducting and magnetic systems are presented. The device used in this work features a combination of high sensitivity and good accuracy over the temperature range 1-400 K and allows measurements in high magnetic fields. LÄS MER
5. On Perfect Simulation of Markovian Queueing Networks with Blocking
Sammanfattning : Perfect simulation of a class of Markovian queueing networks with finite buffers is examined in this monograph. The network processes defined are modelled by restricted multivariate birth and death processes with intensities depending on a random environment. The random environments are mainly a set of independent onoff processes. LÄS MER
