  1. 1. Cholesterol in T cells : homeostasis, plasma membrane organization and signaling

    Författare :Saleemulla Mahammad; Ingela Parmryd; Thomas Harder; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plasma membrane; T cells; Cholesterol; Lipid rafts; Membrane organization; Cholesterol homeostasis; cholesteryl esters; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; Cell Biology; cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The plasma membrane of eukaryotic cells contains cholesterol and glycosphingolipids enriched nanodomains known as lipid rafts; which are believed to exist in a liquid ordered (lo) state. Methyl-beta-cyclodextrin (MBCD) is used to deplete cellular cholesterol and a widespread assumption is that MBCD preferentially targets cholesterol in lipid rafts. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Plasma membrane order; the role of cholesterol and links to actin filaments

    Författare :Jelena Dinic; Ingela Parmryd; Gerrit van Meer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Membrane Organization; Lipid rafts; Actin; Laurdan; di-4-ANEPPDHQ; Cholesterol; T cell signaling; Colocalization; Generalized Polarization; Cell Biology; cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The connection between T cell activation, plasma membrane order and actin filament dynamics was the main focus of this study. Laurdan and di-4-ANEPPDHQ, membrane order sensing probes, were shown to report only on lipid packing rather than being influenced by the presence of membrane-inserted peptides justifying their use in membrane order studies. 3. 3. Technological Advancements in Affinity Proteomics : From planar antibody microarrays towards a solution-based platform

    Författare :Mattias Brofelth; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Affinity proteomics; Antibody microarrays; scFv; Biomarkers; MIAS;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract: Proteomics has the potential to deliver disease-associated biomarkers that could provide diagnostic, prognostic and predictive information to enable precision medicine. Affinity proteomics, most commonly based on antibodies and their ability to specifically capture target proteins, has emerged has a valuable tool in biomarker discovery. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Towards the Rational Design of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

    Författare :Håkan S Andersson; Ann-Christin Koch-Schmidt; Ian A Nicholls; Klaus Mosbach; Richard F Venn; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Thermodynamics; Molecular Recognition; Polyvalency; Cooperativity; Electrostatic Interactions; Hydrophobic Effect; Chromatography; Frontal Analysis; HPLC; Spectroscopy; Molecularly Imprinted Polymer; Molecular Imprinting; Crown Ether; Template Polymerisation; Cyclodextrin; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; molecular recognition; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular imprinting is a technique by which polymeric materials selective for a given target molecule can be created through a casting procedure. Functionalised monomers are added to a solution of molecular templates. LÄS MER
