1. Autoantibodies and the Type I Interferon System in the Etiopathogenesis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Sammanfattning : In sera remitted for anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) analysis, the supplement of a sensitive anti-SSA/Ro ELISA to the conventional ANA screening by immunofluorescence (IF) revealed that one fourth of the individuals with IF-ANA negative, but SSA/Ro ELISA positive sera, had systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or cutaneous LE. Consequently, adding a sensitive anti-SSA/Ro ELISA to the ANA screening is valuable for the serological detection of ANA negative SLE/LE patients. LÄS MER
2. Electrification of Private Mobility: Driving Patterns, Multi-Car Households and Infrastructure
Sammanfattning : Electrification of personal vehicles has the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions. However, a large-scale transition to electric vehicles may be difficult as there are many individuals who collectively need to transition to this technology. LÄS MER
3. Value of Information Analysis in Rock Engineering Investigations
Sammanfattning : A challenge in rock engineering is to strike a balance between a reasonable level of investigation and uncertainty in the geological conditions. Value of Information Analysis (VOIA) provides support for decisions about investigation strategies. LÄS MER
4. New Aspects of Alveolar Adaptive Immune Responses in COPD
Sammanfattning : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is characterised by a chronic inflammation in conducting airways and the alveolar parenchyma. The inflammation, which is a consequence of inhalation of noxious gases like tobacco smoke, has traditionally been thought to be driven by innate immune responses. LÄS MER
5. The role of autoantibodies in inflammatory myopathies
Sammanfattning : Polymyositis (PM), dermatomyositis (DM) and inclusion body myositis (IBM), collectively called myositis, are chronic inflammatory myopathies. These disease subsets are heterogeneous but share some features, such as skeletal muscle weakness and inflammatory cell infiltrates in muscle tissue. LÄS MER
