  1. 1. In vivo and in vitro evolution of molecular mechanisms - Importance in B cell development and phage display

    Författare :Nina Nilsson; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cell development and phage display; transplantation; serology; Immunology; Immunologi; serologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Bone marrow resident hematopoietic stem cells differentiate into all different types of lymphoid populations, there among mature naive B cells expressing IgM and IgD. During the maturation, the B cells are subjected to several steps of selection to ensure proper development of the antigen receptor. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Staphylococcal surface display and its applications in bioscience

    Författare :Patrik Samuelson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Display of heterologous proteins on the surface ofmicroorganisms, enabled by means of recombinant DNA technology,has become an increasingly used strategy in variousapplications in microbiology, biotechnology and vaccinology.This thesis presents two bacterial systems, designed forsurface display of chimeric proteins on the food-gradestaphylococcal speciesStaphylococcus xylosusandStaphylococcus carnosus, respectively. 3. 3. Puumala hantavirus : immune responses and vaccines

    Författare :Cristina de Carvalho Nicacio; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Hantavirus; Puumala virus; nucleocapsid protein; neutralizing antibodies; Fab fragment; combinatorial library; phage-display; IgA; cellular immunity; cross-protection; intranasal vaccination;

    Sammanfattning : Hantaviruses (family Bunyaviridae) is a group of closely related zoonotic rodent-borne viruses that are transmitted to humans through inhalation of infected rodent excreta. They cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) or hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) with varying degree of severity depending on the causative virus. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Characterization of ankyrin repeat domain 54 (ANKRD54) and its role on the regulation and subcellular localization of Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK)

    Författare :Manuela O Gustafsson Sfetcovici; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) is an important cytoplasmic signaling protein, where the kinase activity plays a pivotal role in the development, proliferation and differentiation of B-cell lineages. Ankyrin repeat domain 54 (ANKRD54) is a nuclear-resident adaptor protein, where the ankyrin domain repeats are critical for specific protein-protein interaction, while the NLS and NES motifs control the nucleo-cytoplasmic shuttling ability. 5. 5. Design, selection and production of recombinant proteins for prevention of infectious diseases

    Författare :Marianne Hansson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The development of subunit vaccines is presently one of themain strategies for the generation of new vaccines againstinfectious diseases. The use of recombinant DNA techniques hasfacilitated the develoment of new strategies for constructionand production of subunit vaccines. LÄS MER
