1. Reliability-based assessment procedures for existing concrete structures
Sammanfattning : A feasibility study of reliability theory as a tool for the assessment of present safety and residual service life of damaged concrete structures has been performed in order to find a transparent methodology for the assessment procedure. It is concluded that the current guidelines are open to interpretation and that the variation in the results obtained regarding the structural safety is too great to be acceptable. LÄS MER
2. Control of Cracking due to Imposed Strains in Concrete Structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with crack control due to imposed deformations in concrete structures. The objective of crack control may either be to prevent cracking or to limit the crack widths. The aim here is to increase the knowledge in both fields for some common structures. Five papers are included and the three last concern crack development. LÄS MER
3. Probabilistic System Effects in Timber Structures
Sammanfattning : The main purpose of the performed research presented in this thesis is to increase the understanding of the effect of variability of strength properties on the reliability of timber structural systems. Compared to other structural materials such as steel and concrete, structural timber has a considerably higher variability of strength both within and between members. LÄS MER
4. Systemet Människa - Byggnadsverk. : Ett ontologiskt perspektiv
Sammanfattning : Scientifically based concepts and general theories of the object of knowledge are necessary start-ing-points for research, education, and practical application in a field of knowledge. In the field of ar-chitecture such concepts and theories are lacking. Architecture deals with questions of buildings and man’s use and experience of buildings. LÄS MER
5. Modelling of Traffic Loads on Bridges Based on Measurements of Real Traffic Loads in Sweden
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats traffic load effects in road bridges and in particular bending moment and shear force in different types of bridges. All traffic load effects are described in terms of statistical distribution functions for annual extreme values. LÄS MER
