Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to investigate a number of U.S. avant-garde films using Deleuzian film-philosophy in order to describe their thought. 18. THE INVISIBLE FOOT : Survival of New Art Ideas on the Swedish Art Arena - An Autoethnographic Study of nonTVTVstation
Sammanfattning : This thesis is an autoethnographic case study of an avant-garde art project – nonTVTVstation - which achieved broad international success but met several difficulties on the Swedish art arena and eventually ceased operations after 10 years. The puzzle the thesis addresses is: Why did the nonTVTVstation, despite its international success, constantly run into trouble in Sweden and eventually fail to survive as a new art concept? The difficulties associated with the local structures represented an “Invisible Foot”, constantly but in seemingly complex ways upsetting our plans; but the nature and details of this Invisible Foot remained hidden during the years of operation. Sammanfattning : For the Armenian-Russian mathematician, theologian and art-theoretician Pavel Florensky (1882–1937), the so-called reverse perspective of the Byzantine cult-image (in Greek: eikon) functioned not only as a phenomenon within painting, but also as an expression of a world-view that should ultimately define a cultural distinction between Russia and Europe. Florensky argued in various ways that the Russian-Orthodox reverse perspective represents ethical and aesthetical values that are superior to the Western linear perspective. LÄS MER
20. Ordkonst och levnadskonst : Det skrivande subjektet i John Ashberys, Yves Bonnefoys och Inger Christensens diktning
Sammanfattning : The chief aim of this thesis is to investigate the use of language called poetry during the second half of the 20th century and how the writing subject is implicated in it. Building on the theoretical perspectives enabled by Michel Foucault’s late work on the technologies of the self, I analyze the practices of writing in John Ashbery’s, Inger Christensen’s and Yves Bonnefoy’s poetry.
