  1. 16. Challenges with Driverless and Unattended Train Operations

    Författare :Emil Jansson; Oskar Fröidh; Nils O.E. Olsson; Ingrid Johansson; Carl-William Palmqvist; Olov Lindfeldt; Ronghui Liu; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Railway; Automatic train operation; Driverless trains; Train driver; Roles; Automation challenges; Human senses; Trackside sensors; Transportsystem; Transport Systems; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Demand for transportation continues to increase, for both freight and passenger services. One of the most energy-efficient modes of transportation is rail. One solution to increase the attractiveness of rail transport is to introduce automatic train operation (ATO) with a high grade of automation (GoA). LÄS MER

  2. 17. Reliability Evaluation of Distribution ArchitecturesConsidering Failure Modes and Correlated Events

    Författare :Sajeesh Babu; Patrik Hilber; Hans Kristian Høidalen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Power systems are in a phase of automation where intelligent components and sub-systems are employed to monitor, control and manage the grid. Quantifying the complex consequences on system reliability, from the integration of such automated and semi-automated equipment into the existing grid is important for maintenance optimisation and fault mitigation. 3. 18. Reliability Evaluation of Distribution Systems Considering Failure Modes and Network Configuration

    Författare :Sajeesh Babu; Patrik Hilber; Chanan Singh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Power distribution networks are recognized as the constituent part of power systems with the highest concentration of failure events. Even though the faults in distribution networks have a local effect when compared to the generation and transmission sides, major contingency escalation events are being more frequently reported from this section. 4. 19. True Monoliths as Separation Media : Homogeneous Gels for Electrophoresis and Electrochromatography in the Capillary and Microchip Modes

    Författare :Ákos Végvári; Douglas Westerlund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; capillary electrophoresis; capillary electrochromatography; gel electrophoresis; agarose; polyacrylamide; b-cyclodextrin; DNA; peptide; glutathione; drug enantiomers; microchip; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis focuses on the development of new homogeneous gels for the separation of drug enantiomers, peptides, DNA and virus by electrophoresis and electrochromatography in capillaries and microchips. This type of separation media offers high resolution and small zone broadening. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Capturing travel entities to facilitate travel behaviour analysis : A case study on generating travel diaries from trajectories fused with accelerometer readings

    Författare :Adrian Corneliu Prelipcean; Yusak Octavius Susilo; Gyözö Gidofalvi; Stefan van der Spek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; travel diary automation; trajectory segmentation; travel data collection; travel diary collection system evaluation and comparison; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : The increase in population, accompanied by an increase in the availability of travel opportunities have kindled the interest in understanding how people make use of the space around them and their opportunities. Understanding the travel behaviour of individuals and groups is difficult because of two main factors: the travel behaviour's wide coverage, which encompasses different research areas, all of which model different aspects of travel behaviour, and the difficulty of obtaining travel diaries from large groups of respondents, which is imperative for analysing travel behaviour and patterns.
