21. Restrictive eating disorders: aetiological, epidemiological and neurodevelopmental aspects
Sammanfattning : Restrictive Eating Disorders (EDs), including Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Anorexia Nervosa (AN), are characterised by severely restricted food intake, commonly leading to substantial weight loss and significantly low weight, and the need for nutritional supplementation. The overarching aim of this thesis was to elucidate specific aetiological, epidemiological, and neurodevelopmental aspects of ARFID and AN, including the genetic aetiology of AN, the link between AN and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the prevalence of ARFID, and the comorbidity of ARFID with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). 24. AD/HD and autism spectrum disorders in adults
Sammanfattning : Background: Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) and autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are early-onset, but often life-time impairing, neurodevelopmental disorders. They are highly overlapping and seem to carry considerable risks of negative outcomes, psychiatrically and psychosocially. LÄS MER
25. Identification of Candidate Genes in Four Human Disorders
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis has been to identify genes and gene regions underlying four different disorders. In papers I-IV, positional cloning methods, such as linkage, association and haplotype analysis have been used for the identification of genomic regions associated with the ichthyosis prematurity syndrome (IPS), adult-onset autosomal dominant leukodystrophy (ADLD) and Kostmann disease.
