16. Synchrotron-based In Situ Electron Spectroscopy Applied to Oxide Formation and Catalysis
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, in situ ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to address chemical reactions on surfaces. The presented work aims at the investigation of the relation between pressure and adsorbate surface structures during catalytic reactions. LÄS MER
17. Structure-dependent charge transfer at the interafce between organic thin films, and metals and metal oxides
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the research work, presented in this thesis is to offer a detailed atomic level study of interfaces created by adsorption of organic molecules on metals and metal oxides to point out significant impact of substrate, dye structure as well as different mediators on the charge transfer at these interfaces, which is proven to influence the device performance to a great extent.Adsorption of organic photosensitive molecules on metals and metal-oxides is the main focus of this thesis. 18. Magnetism and Structure of Thin 3d Transition Metal Films : XMCD and EXAFS using Polarized Soft X-Rays
Sammanfattning : In this Thesis the magnetic and structural properties of thin epitaxial Fe, Co, and Ni films are discussed. Some of the in-situ prepared samples were used to characterize the degree of circular polarization of the newly installed beamline D1011 at MAX-lab. LÄS MER
19. Ab initio Interlayer Potentials For Metals and Alloys
Sammanfattning : Many modern materials and material systems are layered. The properties related to layers are connected to interactions between atomic layers. In the present thesis, we introduce the interlayer potential (ILP), a novel model potential which fully describes the interaction between layers. LÄS MER
20. Electronic and atomic structure of metal induced reconstructionson Si(lll) and Ge(lll) surfaces studied by PES and STM
Sammanfattning : Deposition of metal atoms on semiconductors leads in many cases to reconstructed surfaces. The lack of symmetry in the direction normal to the surface allows for a large variety in the atomic arrangements of the surface reconstructions. In the case of silicon, more than 300 kinds of adsorbate-induced surface reconstructions have been found. LÄS MER
