  1. 1. Lipoproteomics : A New Approach to the Identification and Characterization of Proteins in LDL and HDL

    Författare :Helen Karlsson; Mats Lindahl; Christer Tagesson; Pia Davidsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LDL; HDL; Proteomik; Atheroskleros; Masspektrometri; 2-DE; Molecular medicine; Molekylär medicin;

    Sammanfattning : A proteomic approach was applied to examine the protein composition of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in humans. LDL and HDL were isolated by density gradient ultracentrifugation, and proteins were separated with twodimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and identified with peptide mass fingerprinting, using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry, and with amino acid sequencing using electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry. 2. 2. Mechanisms of stretch-induced growth and contractile differentiation in vascular smooth muscle

    Författare :Asad Zeidan; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysiologi; Physiology; SM22a; ERK1 2; caveolae; stretch; Smooth muscle; differentiation;

    Sammanfattning : Vascular smooth muscle can adapt to increased intraluminal pressure by remodelling and hypertrophy, as seen in hypertension. The molecular mechanisms responsible for this are still incompletely characterized. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Dynamics of Ca2 handling in vascular smooth muscle

    Författare :Karl Dreja; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; smooth muscle; phenotypic modulation; caveolae; Physiology; confocal microscopy; calcium; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Intracellular Ca2+ is a key regulator of vascular contractility, and thereby of blood perfusion and pressure. Ca2+ signals are essential also for cell migration, proliferation and regulation of numerous enzymes. LÄS MER
