1. Arthropods in Constructed Wetlands : Ecosystem Processes and Riparian Biodiversity
Sammanfattning : Constructed wetlands in the agricultural landscape are known to harbor immense arthropod biodiversity, however, riparian arthropod communities have often been neglected compared to aquatic communities when studying environmental responses. These wetlands are highly productive, but vary in form and composition based on its purpose, which influences the communities that inhabit them. LÄS MER
2. Evolution and taxonomy of Cambrian arthropods from Greenland and Sweden
Sammanfattning : Arthropods have a rich fossil record spanning the Phanerozoic. Biomineralized forms such as the extinct trilobites are particularly common and are proven index fossils for biostratigraphy. Forms with an unmineralized cuticle are more rare, preserved only in so called konservat lagerstätten. LÄS MER
3. The impact of cormorant nesting colonies on plants and arthropods
Sammanfattning : Seabirds concentrate large amounts of marine nutrients on their nesting islands. This nutrient input can have large consequences for island food webs and community structure. The high nutrient load may also cause runoff into surrounding waters and affect marine communities. LÄS MER
4. The visual ecology of bees - Tales of diverse eyes and behaviours
Sammanfattning : The buzzing flight of bees is a popular summer hit. Yet, outside of a few familiar species of honeybees and bumblebees, these fantastic little creatures are still mostly unknown. With about twenty-five thousand species, bees are a very diverse group. They can be found in drastically different habitats. LÄS MER
5. Predators in low arctic tundra and their impact on community structure and dynamics
Sammanfattning : The abundance of predators and their impact on ecosystem dynamics is a vividly discussed topic in current ecology. In my studies, incorporating field observations, field experiments and theoretical modeling, I explored the importance of predators and predation in a low arctic tundra ecosystem in northern Norway.
