    Sammanfattning : The cyanoprokaryote (blue-green algae) genus Arthrospira occurs in saline, alkaline tropical waters of Africa, Asia, and Central America.     Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the demonstration and partial characterization of latent messenger RNA in encysted Artemia embryos.RNA was extracted from subcellular fractions of dormant Artemia cysts and tested for template activity in a messenger RNA deficient amino acid incorporating bacterial system.     Sammanfattning : In dormant cryptobiotic embryos of Artemia there is a stored pool of messenger RNA (mRNA) associated with the endoplasmic reticulum. Upon resumption of the embryos this latent mRNA is activated and used in the protein synthesis. LÄS MER
