1. Confronting new challenges in chemical assessment : emerging contaminants and climate change
Sammanfattning : Both chemical-specific (e.g. physical-chemical properties) and environmental (e.g. LÄS MER
2. Organohalogen contaminants in Greenland shark (Somniosus microcephalus)
Sammanfattning : The remote sub-Arctic/Arctic environment has due to human activities become a sink for organohalogen contaminants (OHCs). These OHC include traditional contaminants such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), DDTs and technical mixtures of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), all included in the Stockholm Convention list of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). 3. Temporal and spatial trends of organohalogens in guillemot (Uria aalge) from North Western Europe
Sammanfattning : The Arctic and sub-Arctic region of the North Atlantic is a remote area, also in relations to environmental contaminants, such as POPs, BFRs and last but not least, PFCs. Both the BFRs and PFCs are considered emerging pollutants of significant environmental concern. LÄS MER
4. In silico methods to prioritize chemicals with high exposure potential
Sammanfattning : Chemicals offer a wide range of desired functions and are used in a variety of consumer goods and industrial sectors. The number of individual synthetic organic chemicals produced and the total global chemical production volume are increasing. LÄS MER
5. Legacy persistent organic pollutants and chemicals of emerging concern in Sweden : from indoor environments to remote areas
Sammanfattning : Bulk atmospheric deposition samples were taken every two months for a year in 2009-2010 at two sites in northern Sweden and analyzed for a suite of legacy and emerging persistent organic chemicals including legacy organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and novel flame retardants (NFRs). To further investigate the urban occurrence and contribution to remote contamination of flame retardants, indoor air, ventilation system air, and dust were sampled in several microenvironments in Stockholm during the winter of 2012 for analysis of PBDEs, isomer-specific hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD), and NFRs.
