1. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction : Anatomic and biomechanical considerations of graft placement and fixation
Sammanfattning : This study, comprising 7 separate papers, is concerned with the mechanical causes of graft failure after intraarticular reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The study is predominantly experimental in design, but a clinical follow-up is also included to test a causal hypothesis of secondary graft elongation. LÄS MER
2. Acute anterior cruciate ligament injuries : evaluation of surgical och non-surgical treatment
Sammanfattning : This study comprising 6 separate papers is concerned with the treatment of patients with acute anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The aim was to compare primary surgical and non-surgical ACL treatment. Treatment was, therefore, instituted at random in all consecutive patients (n = 293) with ACL injury. LÄS MER
3. Chronic anterior cruciate ligament tear : knee function and knee extensor muscle size, morphology and function before and after surgical reconstruction
Sammanfattning : Knee function was evaluated by knee score, activity level, clinical findings and performance tests, muscle size by computerized tomography (CT), morphology by light (LM) and electron microscopy (EM), muscle function by electromyography (EMG) and isokinetic performance in 29 patients with chronic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. Preoperatively CT disclosed a significant mean atrophy of the quadriceps and nonsignificant changes of the other muscle areas of the injured leg. LÄS MER
4. On the Anterior Cruciate Ligament : Lesions, Reconstruction, Morphology and Tensile Strength - A Clinical and Experimental Study
Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER
5. Predictors of Outcome after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Sammanfattning : An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most common injuries to the knee joint. It is also one of the most researched areas within sports medicine, orthopedics and physical therapy. LÄS MER
