  1. 11. Bacillus Cereus. Adhesion Ability to Biological and Non-Biological Surfaces, Enterotoxins, Characterization

    Författare :Annika Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; characterization; Bacillus cereus; spores; adhesion; enterotoxin;

    Sammanfattning : The organism investigated in this thesis was Bacillus cereus, which is important as a food spoilage organism and as a pathogen. The adhesion of endospores to and the removal of endospores from siliconized glass surfaces were investigated to increase the knowledge of adhesion mechanisms and to improve the removal of endospores from surfaces. 2. 12. Second language acquisition in 6- to 8-year-old native Spanish-speaking children : ERP studies of phonological awareness, semantics, and syntax

    Författare :Annika Andersson; Helen J. Neville; Edward Vogel; Ulrich Mayr; Eric Pederson; USA University of Oregon; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; ERP; L2; language development; Semantics; phonological awareness; syntax; children 3-8 years of age ; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Most people in the world and about a fifth of all school-aged Americans speak at least two languages. Nevertheless, little is known about second language (L2) processing in development, even though language proficiency is strongly related to success in almost all domains. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Role of Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase and Melatonin in Regulation of β-cell Sensitivity to Cytokines

    Författare :Annika K. Andersson; Stellan Sandler; Nils Welsh; Décio L. Eizirik; Nils Billestrup; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; β-cell; Cyclooxygenase; Cytokine; Diabetes; IFN-γ; IL-1β; iNOS; Insulin; Melatonin; Nitric oxide; Pancreatic islets; Phospholipase D; Prostaglandin E2; Streptozotocin; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanisms of β-cell destruction leading to type 1 diabetes are complex and not yet fully understood, but infiltration of the islets of Langerhans by autoreactive immune cells is believed to be important. Activated macrophages and T-cells may then secrete cytokines and free radicals, which could selectively damage the β-cells. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Determination of Volatile Sulfur Compounds in Air and other Gas Matrices : Development and Applications of Solid-Phase Microextraction

    Författare :Fräs Annika Andersson; Bo Svensson; Josep M. Bayona; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : Volatile sulphur compounds (VSCs) are frequently emitted during bioindustrial activities, such as production of biogas, sewage treatment, landfilling, pulpmilling, and the slaughtering of animals and meat processing. VSCs are reactive and malodorous, and they can also be detrimental to human health, therefore it is of great interest to be able to analyze these compounds. LÄS MER

  5. 15. A Randomized Trial of Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Major Depressive Disorder : Predictors of process and outcome

    Författare :Annika Ekeblad; Rolf Holmqvist; Gerhard Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Clinical trail; Interpersonal psychotherapy; Cognitive behavioral therapy; major depressive disorder; drop-outs; mentalization; reflective functioning; working alliance; Randomiserad studie; egentlig depression; Interpersonell psykoterapi; kognitiv beteendeterapi; drop-out; utfall; mentaliseringsförmåga; arbetsallians;

    Sammanfattning : Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are both evidence-based treatments for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Several head-to-head comparisons between these methods have been made, most of them in the US. There is a need for more trials in different treatment settings. LÄS MER
