16. Exploring binary mixtures of protic ionic liquids– Interactions, dynamics, and non-ideal behavior
Sammanfattning : Ionic liquids are organic salts that melt at low temperatures and provide a set of properties beneficial for diverse applications. These properties include good thermal stability, high ionic conductivity, low volatility and non-flammability. LÄS MER
17. Acidification of Swedish forest soils : evaluation of data from the Swedish forest soil inventory
Sammanfattning : Acidification of forest soils in Sweden has negatively affected nutrient status and caused toxic effects on biota. The aim of this thesis was to investigate potential impacts of two drivers of acidification of forest soils in Sweden: (1) tree growth with subsequent harvest and (2) deposition of sulphur and nitrogen compounds. 18. Electrochemical investigations on lipid cubic phases
Sammanfattning : Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) was used to develop a novel methodology for studying ionic interaction with lipids arranged in a lipid cubic phase (LCP). Studying different types of ions, both cations and anions, validated the method. LÄS MER
19. From Silica Nano-Particles to Silica Gels and Beyond - Salt Induced Aggregation of Silica Nano-Particles and the Stability of Resultant Gels
Sammanfattning : Aqueous silica nanoparticle suspensions are widely available and used within a number of industries. A relatively new area of application is as a grouting material for sealing narrow fractures in tunnels. LÄS MER
20. Amphiphilic Graft Copolymer Electrolytes for Lithium-Ion Polymer Batteries. - Preparation and Characterisation
Sammanfattning : In the present work amphiphilic graft copolymers were prepared by free radical copolymerization of macromonomers in solution. The graft copolymers consisted of methacrylate backbones bearing ethylene oxide (EO)n side chains of varying length as ionophilic groups, and fluorocarbon (CF2)6 side chains or hydrocarbon groups as ionophobic groups.
