1. Asymmetric and symmetric hydration of hydrated anions in aqueous solution
Sammanfattning : The interaction between solvent and solute is a very important chemical property that has large impact on the chemical reactions taking place. In Paper I and II the structure of hydrated sulfite, selenite and selenate in aqueous solutions are determined and compared. LÄS MER
2. Hydration of oxo anions : a combined computational and experimental structure and dynamics study in aqueous solutions
Sammanfattning : The structure and dynamics of several hydrated oxo anions were studied using multiple methodologies. Aqueous solutions of sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate, peroxysulfate, selenite, selenate, hypochlorite, chlorite, chlorate, perchlorate, bromate, iodate and periodate salts were studied using large angle X-ray scattering (LAXS) and extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy. 3. Green Propellants
Sammanfattning : To enable future environmentally friendly access to space by means of solid rocket propulsion a viable replacement to the hazardous ammonium perchlorate oxidizer is needed. Ammonium dinitramide (ADN) is one of few such compounds currently known. LÄS MER
4. Toward Safer Energy Storage Solution by Development of Fluorine-Free Battery Electrolyte
Sammanfattning : Portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, cameras and electronic vehicles (EVs) which contain lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), are indispensable part of our modern society. The safety of conventional electrolytes of LIBs, composed of fluorinated lithium salts and organic solvents is the source of some concerns. LÄS MER
5. Small and Large, Charged Molecules in Solution and at Interfaces
Sammanfattning : The influence of small and large, charged molecules on the properties of aqueous interfaces has important implications in chemistry, biology, and medicine. For example, at the surface of marine aerosols, the presence of halide anions and tropospheric gases gives way to multiphase chemical reactions affecting climate and air quality. LÄS MER
