    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aneurysmal; Attention deficit; Cognitive impairment; Family medicine; Follow-up appointments; General practice; Intracranial aneurysm; Outcome; Primary care; Primary health care; Return to work; Spasticity; Stroke; Subarachnoid hemorrhage; Sweden; Neurokirurgi; Neurosurgery;

    Sammanfattning : Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a devastating disease with mean age of 59 years. SAH accounts for 5% of all stroke and more than one quarter of potential life years lost through stroke. With the advanced neurosurgical methods of today two thirds of the patients survive. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with cerebral arterial vasospasm and ischaemia, a serious complication after aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage. Firstly is the noninvasive transcranial Doppler ultrasound and transcranial cerebral oximetry techniques evaluated in detecting cerebral arterial vasospasm in clinical practice. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Changing strategies in the treatment of aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage : challenging the second bleed

    Författare :Steen M. Fridriksson; Jens Astrup; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Despite considerable advances in the management of aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) over the past decades, the overall outcome is still disappointing. Currently, not more than six patients out of every ten with a ruptured aneurysm, reaching hospital alive, will recover to a normal life. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Aspects on arterial dimensions with special reference to aneurysmal disease

    Författare :Thomas Sandgren; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; orthopaedics; Surgery; Arteria poplitea; Arteria femoralis; Aneurysm; Arterial dimensions; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : The incidence of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) is increasing. The risk of rupture is related to diameter. However, rupture may occur also in small AAA. To evaluate the size of an aneurysm when related to the predicted normal aortic diameter might be a better predictor of risk. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Many patients with an aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) exhibit difficulties in rehabilitation, even in cases of a good prognosis. The present project investigates this using qualitative methods and standardised outcome measures. LÄS MER
