  1. 1. Health Care Professionals’ Views of Smart Glasses for Vital Signs Monitoring in Complex Care Environments

    Författare :Charlotte Romare; Lisa Skär; Sofia Österberg; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anesthesia Department; Hospital; Human Factors Engineering; Intensive Care Units; Monitoring; Physiologic; Nursing; Smart Glasses; Patient Safety.; Tillämpad hälsoteknik; Applied Health Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Monitoring patient vital signs is one of many important tasks for health care professionals in intensive care units and anaesthesia departments. Patient status can deteriorate in seconds, hence close surveillance is requisite for safe care. However, monitoring vital signs can be challenging in some situations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. System identification and control for general anesthesia based on parsimonious Wiener models

    Författare :Margarida Martins da Silva; Torbjörn Wigren; Alexander Medvedev; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Sammanfattning : The effect of anesthetics in the human body is usually described by Wiener models. The high number of patient-dependent parameters in the standard models, the poor excitatory pattern of the input signals (administered anesthetics) and the small amount of available input-output data make application of system identification strategies difficult. 3. 3. Femoral and Inguinal Hernia : How to Minimize Adverse Outcomes Following Repair

    Författare :Ursula Dahlstrand; Ulf Gunnarsson; Gabriel Sandblom; Staffan Wollert; Andrew Kingsnorth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; femoral hernia; inguinal hernia; adverse outcome; complication; recurrence; chronic pain; long-term pain; emergency; mortality; TEP; Lichtenstein; local anesthesia; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Groin hernia is common, and each year 200 repairs per 100 000 adult inhabitants are performed in Sweden. Groin hernias are either inguinal or femoral (2-4%). Elective repair is not associated with an excess mortality, but adverse outcomes include recurrence and long-term pain. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Human vascular alpha-adrenoceptors. A study of peripheral arteries and veins in vitro and in vivo

    Författare :Stig Steen; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : By means of a sensitive myograph and alpha-receptor subtype selective agonists and antagonists the postjunctional alpha-adrenoceptors were characterized in small omental and groin arteries and veins and in long saphenous veins obtained from 52 "healthy" adults during surgery. These vessels were found to have a mixed population of contraction mediating postjunctional alpha-receptors with a predominance of apha1-receptors in the arteries and a predominance of alpha2-receptors in the veins, although regional variations occurred. 5. 5. Mitral Valve Surgery: Effects on Cardiac Reverse Remodeling, Hemodynamics, and Clinical Outcome

    Författare :Snejana Hyllen; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac function; mitral regurgitation; myocardial remodeling; mitral valve repair;

    Sammanfattning : Normalization of life expectancy after mitral valve surgery is highly dependent on early diagnosis and referral for surgical treatment. Among cases treated surgically, the majority (60–70%) have a degenerative etiology, which is also easiest to repair. LÄS MER
