21. Development of improved radiation therapy techniques using narrow scanned photon beams
Sammanfattning : The present thesis is focused on the development and application of narrow scanned high energy photon beam for radiation therapy. The introduction of physically and biologically optimized intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) requires a flexible and accurate dose delivery method to maximize the treatment outcome. LÄS MER
22. Warfarin treatment quality in stroke prevention
Sammanfattning : BackgroundIschemic stroke is a serious condition often associated to presence of atrial fibrillation (AF). Use of anticoagulants for AF patients greatly reduces the risk of stroke. Warfarin is the most commonly used anticoagulant in Sweden. The aim of this thesis was to study the impact of warfarin treatment quality in Swedish stroke prevention. LÄS MER
23. The use of structural equation modeling to describe the effect of operator functional state on air-to-air engagement outcomes
Sammanfattning : Computational evidence of the operative usefulness of a new system is crucial in large system development processes concerning billions of euros or dollars. Although it is obvious that the human often is the most important and critical component of many systems, it has often been hard for Human Factors researchers to express human aspects in a computational and strict way. 24. Biological optimization of angle of incidence and intensity modulation in breast and cervix cancer radiation therapy
Sammanfattning : Biological treatment optimization aim at improving radiation therapy by accounting for the radiobiological tumour and normal tissues response properties when optimizing the dose delivery. Generally traditional methods, using only dosimetrical measures, disregard the nonlinear radiation response of different tumours and normal tissues. LÄS MER
25. Eketorps veckningar : Hur arkeologi formar tid, rum och kön
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the history of the cultural heritage site of Eketorp, a prehistoric ring-fort, on the island of Öland, Sweden. The archaeological excavations at Eketorp, which began in 1964, lasted for a decade and soon turned into one of the largest archaeological research projects in Sweden. LÄS MER
