1. Aerolastic simulation of wind turbine dynamics
Sammanfattning : The work in this thesis deals with the development of an aeroelastic simulation tool for horizontal axis wind turbine applications. Horizontal axis wind turbines can experience significant time varying aerodynamic loads, potentially causing adverse effects on structures, mechanical components, and power production. LÄS MER

3. Terrestrial Ecosystem Interactions with Global Climate and Socio-Economics
Sammanfattning : The global terrestrial carbon cycle plays a pivotal role in regulating the atmospheric composition of greenhouse gases. Currently it is responsible for removing 25-30% of our emissions every year, an important ecosystem service that may not persist in the long term. LÄS MER
4. Contact fatigue and crack propagation studies of sintered PM steel
Sammanfattning : Gears made of PM steel are of interest for the automotive industry because from the press/sinter route, complex geometries can be produced to near net shape with only a few processing steps while keeping the material and energy usage at a minimum. However, the PM steels of today have significant performance limitations caused by the inherent porosity which impairs the mechanical properties by acting as stress raisers in the material. LÄS MER
5. Nonlinear phonocardiographic Signal Processing
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis work has been to develop signal analysis methods for a computerized cardiac auscultation system, the intelligent stethoscope. In particular, the work focuses on classification and interpretation of features derived from the phonocardiographic (PCG) signal by using advanced signal processing techniques. LÄS MER
