17. Microextraction by packed sorbent of drugs and peptides in biological fluids
Sammanfattning : Sample preparation as the first step in an analytical procedure has an important role, particularly in bioanalysis, because of the complexity of biological samples (blood plasma and urine). Biological matrix such as plasma and blood contains proteins, organic and inorganic salts, acids, bases and various organic compounds with similar chemistry to the analytes of interest. LÄS MER
18. Anaesthetics and the blood vessel wall. Actions of propofol and sevoflurane on sympathetic and endothelial control of smooth muscle function
Sammanfattning : The anaesthetics we use today dose-dependently decrease the mean arterial pressure partly due to direct or indirect effects on the blood vessels. In the present thesis human omental arteries and veins and rat femoral arteries were investigated in vitro concerning the effects of the intravenous anaesthetic propofol and the volatile anaesthetic sevoflurane on the function of the perivascular sympathetic nerves and the endothelial cells. 19. Methodological aspects on microdialysis sampling and measurements
Sammanfattning : Background: The microdialysis (MD) technique is widely spread and used both experimentally and in clinical practice. The MD technique allows continuous collection of small molecules such as glucose, lactate, pyruvate and glycerol. Samples are often analysed using the CMA 600 analyser, an enzymatic and colorimetric analyser. LÄS MER
20. Platelet Inhibition and Bleeding in Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Sammanfattning : A substantial number of patients undergoing cardiac surgery are on dual anti-platelet treatment with clopidogrel and aspirin. A disadvantage with this treatment is increased risk of bleeding. Bleeding is a complication of major concern associated with adverse outcome for the patient and increased hospital resource utilization. LÄS MER
