  1. 1. Consequences of amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling for prenatal diagnosis

    Författare :Maria Cederholm; Karel Marsal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstetrics and gynaecology; Prenatal diagnosis; malformations; lung; labor; amnion; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; Obstetrics and women s diseases; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; obstetrik och gynekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Amniocentesis (AC) and chorionic villus sampling (CVS) are the principal methods for fetal karyotyping. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate psychological reactions and risks associated with the procedures.A semi-randomised study was made on 321 women, where AC (147) and CVS (174) at 10-13 weeks’ gestation were done trans-abdominally. 2. 2. The use of routine ultrasound in pregnancy : with special reference to normal and abnormal foetal growth, information and informed choice and the womens' experiences of the prenatal diagnostic aspects

    Författare :Elizabeth Crang Svalenius; Barns och familjers hälsa; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acceptance of serum screening for Down Syndrome.; satsifaction with choice; informed choice; information; Ultrasound growth parameters; foetal disproportion; Obstetrics; gynaecology; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : The development of real-time ultrasound in the 1970's made indelible inpact on antenatal care. Assessing foetal growth and detecting deviations from normal in both growth and foetal anatomy became fesible. Expectant parents could also 'see' their foetus. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Perinatal regenerative medicine : development of autologous constructs for soft tissue defects

    Författare :Åsa Ekblad; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Disrupted organogenesis leads to permanent malformations that may require surgical correction. Affected new-borns without spare tissue for the primary closure are dependent of other solutions. Because of the perinatal tissue shortage, synthetic or biological prosthetic materials are being used, which may be associated with complications. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biomarkers in mid-trimester amniotic fluid in relation to gestational duration and spontaneous preterm delivery

    Författare :Maria Hallingström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; amniotic fluid; biomarkers; cytokine; damage-associated molecular pattern; gestation; gestational duration; inflammation; labor; mid-trimester; multiplex; pregnancy clock; proteins; spontaneous preterm delivery; term delivery;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The biological mechanisms and physiological pathways of pregnancy maintenance and timing of delivery are complex and multifactorial. Pregnancy clocks, partly controlled by timing mechanisms linked to fetal development, which regulate the onset of labor has previously been described. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ultrasound screening for fetal anomalies

    Författare :Annamari Nikkilä; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; sexuality; Obstetrik; andrology; congenital malformations; ultrasound; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet; reproduction; gynaecology; Obstetrics; fetal diagnosis;

    Sammanfattning : We studied the prenatal detection rate of various malformations during a study period of 16 years in a population in southern Sweden consisting of 141 240 deliveries. The overall detection rate was 28.4% and the false positive diagnoses were very few. LÄS MER
