  1. 21. A beta-phosphoglucomutase in carbohydrate metabolism of Lactococcus lactis

    Författare :Ny Qian; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mykologi; virologi; bakteriologi; Mikrobiologi; mycology; gene regulation; beta-phosphoglucomutase; maltose metabolism; lactate; metabolic engineering; alpha-phosphoglucomutase; Lactococcus lactis; Microbiology; virology; bacteriology; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Phosphoglucomutase (PGM) catalyzes the reversible conversion of glucose 1-phosphate to glucose 6-phosphate. Two distinct forms of PGM have been purifed and charactierized in Lactococcus lactis growing on maltose: one specific for the alpha-isomer, and the other specific for the beta-isomer of glucose 1-phosphate. 2. 22. Regulation of carbohydrate metabolism in skeletal muscle during and after contraction

    Författare :Marie Sandström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Skeletal muscle; glucose transport; contraction; ROS; AMPK; glycogen phosphorylase; glycogen synthase;

    Sammanfattning : It is well known that exercise increases glucose transport into skeletal muscles. The regulation of this transport, however, is poorly understood. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Glycolytic flux regulation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae during anaerobic growth and starvation

    Författare :Elisabeth Thomsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Saccharomyces; Yeast; Starvation; Energetics; Chemostat; Anaerobic;

    Sammanfattning : The physiology of S. cerevisiae under anaerobic growth conditions is of interest not least during implementation and development of industrial yeast-catalysed ethanol fermentations in order to maintain a productive yeast population. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Regulation of ribonucleotide reductase and the role of dNTP pools in genomic stability in yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae

    Författare :Olga Tsaponina; Andrei Chabes; Ola Hammarsten; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ribonucleotide reductase; dNTP; genome stability;

    Sammanfattning : Every living organism is programmed to reproduce and to pass genetic information to descendants. The information has to be carefully copied and accurately transferred to the next generation.  Therefore organisms have developed the network of conserved mechanisms to survey the protection and precise transfer of the genetic information. 5. 25. Food-Related Gram-Positive Bacteria: Enterotoxin A Expression in Staphylococcus aureus and a New Regulation Mechanism in Lactococcus lactis

    Författare :Rong Cao; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lactococcus lactis; multiple inhibition kinetics; dehydrogenase; ATP; ADP; food factors; biopreservatives; staphylococcal food poisoning; SEA; prophage induction; enterotoxin A; Staphylococcus aureus;

    Sammanfattning : Staphylococcal enterotoxin A (SEA) is the most common enterotoxin found in outbreaks of staphylococcal food poisoning (SFP). Based on the amount of SEA produced, S. aureus strains were divided into two main groups, high- and low-SEA-producing strains. LÄS MER
