  1. 21. Ecological effects of pesticides in freshwater model ecosystems

    Författare :Lina Wendt-Rasch; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; marine biology; aquatic ecology; limnology; Marinbiologi; Hydrobiology; community; zooplankton; algae; herbicide; insecticide; pesticide mixture; macrophytes; cypermethrin; metsulfuron-methyl; risk assessment; pesticides; microcosms; limnologi; akvatisk ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I have investigated the effects of pesticide exposure on the ecosystem level using various types of experimental ecosystems, i.e. microcosms. The direct effect of exposure to cyperemthrin, a pyretroid insecticide, was a rapid decrease of crustancean zooplankton in enclosures in a lake. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Biological growth on rendered façades

    Författare :Sanne Johansson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; temperature; render; radiation; photosynthesis; moulds; mosses; mortar; moisture; lichens; Imaging-PAM; humidity; heat capacity; heat; ETICS; algae; biological growth; calorimetry; desiccation tolerance;

    Sammanfattning : Biological organisms have an incredible ability to adapt to almost any environment and the humans activities on earth have created many new habitats for different kinds of organisms. For example can certain organisms grow on rocks and vertical cliffs, and when humans started building houses with mineral based façades, some organisms found that these were new habitats to live on. 3. 23. Plankton communities in a changing world - responses to temperature, brownification and lake restoration

    Författare :Mattias Ekvall; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate change; temperature; warming; brownification; biomanipulation; zooplankton; cyanobacteria; microcystin; grazing; Daphnia;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of increasing temperatures, in light of climate change, have been a well-studied topic during the past decades. However, aquatic ecosystems are also faced with additional challenges such as increasing water colour, known as “brownification”. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Cretaceous palynofloras from southern Scandinavia

    Författare :Vivi Vajda; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Paleobotanik; phylogeny; Palaeobotany; Cingutriletes scanicus sp. nov; Palynology; palynofacies; paleovegetation; transgression; Early Cretaceous; Cenomanian; Turonian; Bornholm; Denmark; Sweden; Scania; fylogeni; palynologi; Geology; physical geography; Geologi; fysisk geografi;

    Sammanfattning : A palynological investigation of Cretaceous sequences from Höllviken 2, Svedala 1 and Norrevång 1 wells of Scania, Southern Sweden, and from the Arnager Greensand-Arnager Limestone transition on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, was conducted. Well preserved palynofloras were found in strata consisting of shaly mudstones, glauconitic sandstones (greensand) and limestone. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Electron Donor Systems in Natural and Artificial Photosynthesis

    Författare :Ann Magnuson; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; solar energy; artificial photosynthesis; Photosystem II; EPR; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Photosynthesis is the process by which light energy is converted into chemical products, in photoautotrophic bacteria, algae and plants. The principal idea is the production of reducing agents by photo-induced oxidation of a sacrificial electron donor. LÄS MER
