  1. 1. Contact stiffness in tyre/road noise modelling and speed dependencies of tyre/road noise generation mechanisms

    Författare :Julia Winroth; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tyre road noise; Air-pumping; Tyre road contact stiffness; Speed exponent analysis; Tyre road contact modelling;

    Sammanfattning : Tools for simulating tyre/road noise are highly valuable in the efforts to limit the negative consequences of road traffic noise.A numerical tyre/road noise simulation tool was in this study used to investigate how the contact stiffness parameter affects the predicted tyre/road noise. 2. 2. Dynamic contact stiffness and air-flow related source mechanisms in the tyre/road contact

    Författare :Julia Winroth; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tyre road noise; Tread modelling; Air-flow related source mechanisms; Air pumping; Tyre road contact;

    Sammanfattning : Two aspect of phenomena occurring in, and in the vicinity of the contact patch formed by a tyre rolling on a road are here investigated: 1. A detailed numerical time domain contact model is used to evaluate approximations of the tread response that are commonly embraced in tyre/road interaction models. 2. LÄS MER

  3. 3. High Frequency Tyre Vibrations

    Författare :Patrik Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; local deformation; adhesion; tyre model; air pumping; parameter study; tyre road noise; tyre road prediction models; tyre noise;

    Sammanfattning : High frequency (above 1 kHz) noise generation from the tyre/road interaction is still not fully understood and accurately modelled.Two noise generation mechanisms previously suggested in the literature are reviewed: air pumping and noise generation cased by adhesive effects between the tyre tread and road surface. 4. 4. Excitation of Tyre Vibrations due to Tyre/Road Interaction

    Författare :Frédéric Wullens; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tyre road interaction; tyre road noise; tyre structure modelling; contact modelling;

    Sammanfattning : Tyre/road noise is the main contributor to road traffic noise at speeds above 40 km/h for passenger cars and above 70 km/h for heavy trucks. Research has been carried out during the last thirty years in order to understand and quantify the generation mechanisms responsible for tyre/road noise. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modeling and Performance Analysis of Alternative Heat Exchangers for Heavy Vehicles

    Författare :Wamei Lin; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Countercurrent flow; Graphite foam; Heat exchanger; Thermal performance; Computational fluid dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Cross flow heat exchangers made from aluminum are common as radiators in vehicles. However, due to the increasing power requirement and the limited available space in vehicles, it is extremely difficult to increase the size of heat exchangers (HEXs) placed in the front of vehicles.
