  1. 11. Human-automation teamwork : Current practices and future directions in air traffic control

    Författare :Åsa Svensson; Jonas Lundberg; Camilla Forsell; Niklas Rönnberg; Henrik Artman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores the topic of human-automation teamwork in Air Traffic Control (ATC). ATC is a high stakes environment where complex automation is being introduced while the human operator has the legal responsibility. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Study of a Pneumatic Hybrid aided by a FPGA Controlled Free Valve Technology System

    Författare :Sasa Trajkovic; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Compressor; Air-motor; Pneuamtc; Pneumatic-hybrid; VVT; Valve; regenerative; Hybrid; Air;

    Sammanfattning : Urban traffic involves frequent acceleration and deceleration. During deceleration, the energy previously used to accelerate the vehicle is mainly wasted on heat generated by the friction brakes. If this energy that is wasted in traditional IC engines could be saved, the fuel economy would improve. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims at deconstructing the sustainable tourism paradigm: can tourism be "a global strategy for sustainable development", as the tourist industry claims? And will developing countries in particular profit from tourism development?To most international organizations and institutions (from the World Wide Fund for Nature to The World Bank), tourism, if carefully managed, is a positive, sustainable development tool. However, the research presented in this thesis exposes this view as unrealistically optimistic for at least three reasons: first of all, global environmental change caused by tourism has never been investigated and integrated with the discourse on sustainable tourism development. Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the Wallenberg Laboratory for Information Technology and Autonomous Systems (WITAS) at Linköping University is the development of an intelligent command and control system, containing vision sensors, which supports the operation of a unmanned air vehicle (UAV) in both semi- and full-autonomy modes. One of the UAV platforms of choice is the APID-MK3 unmanned helicopter, by Scandicraft Systems AB. LÄS MER

  5. 15. The Internalization of External Effects in Swedish Transport Policy - A Comparison Between Road and Rail Traffic

    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Commercial and industrial economics; rail traffic; road traffic; transport policy; internalization; External effects; pricing-relevant costs; Industriell ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Transport is a key factor for economic growth. It has enabled both the economic scale of production and an increase in competition. No one can question this role of transportation. There is, however, a back-side to the coin: the environmental challenge. LÄS MER
