21. Disintegration of Lime Mud Particles during the Causticizing Operation
Sammanfattning : It is of essential importance that the white liquor used in processing wood chips to produce pulp in the sulphate pulp process is of high and uniform quality. The white liquor is, together with lime mud, produced in the causticizing plant where sodium carbonate is causticized with lime, slaked in green liquor. LÄS MER
22. Flamelet modelling of soot formation in diffusion flames
Sammanfattning : In this work the steady and unsteady flamelet models have been applied to soot formation in laminar and turbulent diffusion flames. The aim was to study how different model parameters affect soot formation in diffusion flames. It was shown that certain assumptions are more crucial in laminar diffusion flames than in turbulent ones. LÄS MER
23. Effects of grinding variables on structural changes and energy conversion during mechanical activation using line profile analysis (LPA)
Sammanfattning : The mechanical treatment of solids is one of the most common and widely used operations with which man has been concerned from the very beginnings of history of civilization. At the present, mechanical activation has a wide range of application potential. LÄS MER
24. Aerosol Generated Core-shell Nanoparticles : Synthesis and Characterization
Sammanfattning : Aerosol technology is a promising platform to synthesize and study core-shellnanoparticles - a multi-elemental nanoparticle system where the core of one material is covered by a shell of another material. In this thesis, two distinctly separate strategies have been explored to synthesize core-shell nanoparticles by aerosol methods: physical vapor deposition (PVD) by evaporation, and surface segregation via thermal treatment. 25. Mechanisms of adhesive mixing for drug particle inhalation (Numerical investigation of the interplay between formulation variables)
Sammanfattning : Formulation of therapeutic dry powders for lung drug delivery via inhalation is done via adhesive mixing. In this process, micron-sized active pharmaceutical ingredient particles are blended with relatively coarse carrier particles until stable adhesive units of carrier and drug particles are formed.
