1. Adrenocortical tumors : Diagnosis, growth regulation and treatment
Sammanfattning : Monoclonal antibodies generated by immunization with human adrenocortical cells reacted with the normal adrenal cortex, adrenocortical adenomas and carcinomas, but failed to stain a variety of normal tissues, renal cell carcinoma, and pheocromocytomas. The antibodies can be used to improve histological diagnosis and characterization of human adrenal lesions, and possibly for scintigraphic detection. LÄS MER
2. Improved adrenocortical PET imaging
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Adrenal tumours can either be benign or malignant, hormone secreting or not, and they can be discovered through clinical examination of the patient or by pure chance. Increased knowledge in the area, plus the widespread use of imaging techniques, have resulted in a rising number of patients with adrenal tumours that subsequently need to be diagnosed. LÄS MER
3. Insights into the transcriptomic profiling of adrenocortical tumors
Sammanfattning : An adrenocortical tumour (ACT) can be detected in up to 5% of the population older than 50 years of age. The frequency increases with age. More ACTs are being detected in parallel with the increased use of high-resolution imaging. LÄS MER
4. New Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approaches in Adrenocortical Cancer
Sammanfattning : Adrenocortical cancer (ACC) is a rare disease that is often difficult to diagnose, and therefore often presents at an advanced stage. Various cytotoxic treatments have been tried with little success. Evaluation of new diagnostic methods and improvement of medical therapies are therefore crucial. LÄS MER
5. Genetic characterization of adrenocortical tumors
Sammanfattning : Adrenocortical cancer is a rare tumor form. However, adrenal tumors are today often found incidentally when using imaging techniques on the upper abdomen and should then be investigated. With the advance in molecular understanding of cancer new approaches to manage the disease may become available. LÄS MER
