  1. 1. Resilience in High Risk Work : Analysing Adaptive Performance

    Författare :Amy Rankin; Henrik Eriksson; Margareta Lützhöft; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Resilience Engineering; Safety Management; Adaptive Capacity; Improvisation;

    Sammanfattning : In today’s complexsocio-technical systems it is not possible to foresee and prepare for allfuture events. To cope with the intricacy and coupling between people,technical systems and the dynamic environment people are required tocontinuously adapt. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Optimal (Adaptive) Design and Estimation Performance in Pharmacometric Modelling

    Författare :Alan Maloney; Ulrika Simonsson; Mats Karlsson; Andy Grieve; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Phase II; dose response; optimal design; adaptive design; exposure response; count data;

    Sammanfattning : The pharmaceutical industry now recognises the importance of the newly defined discipline of pharmacometrics. Pharmacometrics uses mathematical models to describe and then predict the performance of new drugs in clinical development. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In this Ph.D. thesis, we investigate how to optimize the design of clinical trials by constructing optimal adaptive designs, and how to implement the design by adaptive randomization. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effects of Complement Opsonization of HIV on Dendritic Cells : and Implications for the Immune Response

    Författare :Rada Ellegård; Marie Larsson; Jorma Hinkula; Johan D Söderholm; William Paxton; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HIV; dendritic cells; complement; innate immune response; TLR signaling; T cell activation; NK cells; inflammation; antiviral response; immune evasion;

    Sammanfattning : Dendritic cells are key players during HIV pathogenesis, and shape both the immediate immune response at the site of infection as well as directing the adaptive immune response against the virus. HIV has developed a plethora of immune evasion mechanisms that hijack dendritic cell functions, suppressing their ability to mount an accurate immune response and exploiting them for efficient viral transfer to target T cells. 5. 5. Adaptive behaviour in traffic : An individual road user perspective

    Författare :Sara Nygårdhs; Björn Johansson; Dick de Waard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Adaptation; road-user; comfort zone;

    Sammanfattning : Road-user adaptation is a prerequisite for traffic to run smoothly. By adaptation, the road user aims to ensure a feeling of comfort according to his or her present state and capability. In this thesis, adaptive behaviour of car drivers and cyclists in response to different factors is explored, using the individual perspective of the road user. LÄS MER
