1. Quality Improvement in Acute Coronary Care : Combining the Use of an Interactive Quality Registry with a Quality Improvement Collaborative to Improve Clinical Outcome in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Sammanfattning : The quality of care for Swedish patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is continuously increasing. Nevertheless, a great potential for improvement still exists. LÄS MER
2. Acute coronary syndrome : bleeding, platelets and gender
Sammanfattning : BACKGROUNDBleeding complications increase mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Potential gender difference in bleeding regarding prevalence, location, severity and prognostic impact is still controversial and not well investigated. In regard to this aspect the relevance of triple antithrombotic therapy (TAT) is questioned. LÄS MER
3. Epidemiology of heart failure and feasibility of home care in patients with worsening chronic heart failure
Sammanfattning : Aim: To investigate gender-specific trends in long-term mortality in patients hospitalised for ischaemic and non-ischaemic heart failure (HF) and explore temporal trends in the risk of HF complicating acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Another aim is to characterise patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) that seek an emergency department (ED) because of their deteriorating condition and evaluate the feasibility of home care (HC) in comparison with conventional care (CC) in patients with worsening CHF. 4. Coronary angiography after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
Sammanfattning : Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a common cause of death with a survival rate of 10% in Sweden. The chance of survival depends on rapid recognition, high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation and post-resuscitation care including searching and treating the cause of the arrest. LÄS MER
5. Secondary prevention after acute coronary syndrome : antiplatelet therapy and risk factor control
Sammanfattning : Background: One of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide is cardiovascular disease (CVD), including acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Despite improvements in medical treatment, management, and care over the years and the halving of mortality in recent decades, there is considerable room for improvement. LÄS MER
