11. Towards Clinical Implementation of Dynamic Positron Emission Tomography in Neurodegenerative Diseases
Sammanfattning : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) are the two most common neurodegenerative disorders worldwide. Positron emission tomography (PET), together with suitable biomarkers, can aid in the clin-ical evaluation as well as in research investigations of these diseases. LÄS MER
12. Computational and experimental methods for imaging and dosimetry in 177Lu radionuclide therapy : Classical and novel gamma cameras
Sammanfattning : Radionuclide therapy (RNT) is a form of radiotherapy that uses unsealed radioactive sources for the delivery of ionising radiation within a patient's body.Radiation dosimetry is not used routinely in all centres, and the RNT field can benefit from more data on pharmacokinetics and absorbed doses (ADs). 13. Combined structural methods to characterize an oligomeric small heat shock protein Hsp21
Sammanfattning : Small heat shock proteins (sHsps) are found in all organisms and evolved early in the history of life, prior to the divergence of the three domains of life (Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya). Their malfunction is connected to several different diseases in humans, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. LÄS MER
14. Genital human papillomaviruses. Studies of their occurrence, type spectrum and expression
Sammanfattning : The occurrence of genital human papillomavirus infection was determined in different categories of patients by means of PCR. In high proportion of young women attending an adolescent clinic, the presence of HPV DNA was demonstrated in simultaneously urethral and cervical samples, suggesting that genital HPV infections are often multifocal. 15. Advances in quantitative emission tomography : development and analysis of methods for validation and correction
Sammanfattning : The nuclear medicine imaging techniques SPECT and PET are sensitive tools in mapping various physiological and biochemical processes in vivo. This work was devoted to investigations of methodological and physical properties of the SPECT technique as well as developing methods for validation and correction. LÄS MER
