  1. 1. Predictive Eye Movements During Action Observation in Infancy : Understanding the Processes Behind Action Prediction

    Författare :Dorota Green; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Bennet I. Bertenthal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Action prediction; action understanding; eye movements; eye-tracking; culture; infnacy; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Being able to predict the goal of other people’s actions is an important aspect of our daily lives. This ability allows us to interact timely with others and adjust our behaviour appropriately.The general aim of the present thesis was to explore which processes best explain our ability to predict other people’s action goals during development. 2. 2. Handlingsburen kunskap : Lärares uppfattningar om landskapet som lärandemiljö

    Författare :Anders Szczepanski; Lars Owe Dahlgren; Arne Nikolajsen Jordet; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Outdoor education; learning environment; knowledge in action; body and movement; physical education; ecology; Utomhuspedagogik; lärande; lärmiljö; handlingsburen kunskap; kropp och rörelse; fysisk aktivitet; ekologi; Education; Pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : This is a licentiate dissertation consisting of a summarizing section and two free-standing but coherent articles, one of which has previously been published in ascientific journal while the other is accepted for publication. The unifying link is the theme of attempting to establish the kernel of outdoor education, as it isunderstood by teachers active in the field. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Clearing for Action : Leadership as a Relational Phenomenon

    Författare :Lucia Crevani; Monica Lindgren; Johann Packendorff; Janne Tienari; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Industrial organisation; administration and economics; Industriell organisation; administration och ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Although leadership is deemed to matter, scholars seldom pay attention to the phenomenon itself, as it is happening. Hence definitions abound, but there is a lack of vocabulary for expressing what leadership is about without ending up talking of individual leaders and/or descriptions of abstract “goodness”. 4. 4. Embodied simulation as off-line representation

    Författare :Henrik Svensson; Tom Ziemke; Germund Hesslow; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Embodied cognition; Simulation theories; Emulation; Forward models; Perception; Action; Cognitive science; Kognitionsvetenskap; Teknik; Technology;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis argues that a key to understanding the embodiment of cognition is the “sharing” of neural mechanisms between sensorimotor processes and higher-level cognitive processes as described by simulation theories. Simulation theories explain higher-level cognition as (partial) simulations or emulations of sensorimotor processes through the re-activation of neural circuitry also active in bodily perception, action, and emotion. 5. 5. Minding the Body : Interacting socially through embodied action

    Författare :Jessica Lindblom; Tom Ziemke; Shaun Gallagher; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Embodiment; embodied cognition; embodied cognitive science; social interaction; social cognition; embodied action; interactive technology; Cognitive science; Kognitionsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation clarifies the role and relevance of the body in social interaction and cognition from an embodied cognitive science perspective. Theories of embodied cognition have during the past two decades offered a radical shift in explanations of the human mind, from traditional computationalism which considers cognition in terms of internal symbolic representations and computational processes, to emphasizing the way cognition is shaped by the body and its sensorimotor interaction with the surrounding social and material world.
