11. Active Junction Control and Piezoelectric Hybrid Damping for Improving the Acoustic Performance of Lightweight Structures
Sammanfattning : Weight reduction is a key factor in lowering the fuel consumption and thereby the greenhouse emissions from vehicles. However, reducing the weight normally results in a deterioration of the acoustic performance. Thus, the purpose of this thesis is to investigate damping treatments for lightweight vehicle panels. 12. Acoustic manipulation for cell and spheroid cellomics
Sammanfattning : Ultrasonic standing wave (USW) particle manipulation has during the last two decades matured into a valuable tool to combine with microfluidics. Acoustophoresis, migration through sound, is the result of the acoustic radiation force acting on particles suspended in an acoustic field. LÄS MER
13. Environmental factors and risk of acoustic neuroma
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to increase the knowledge about environmental risk factors of acoustic neuroma and to increase the understanding of the methodological problems encountered when studying this tumor. Acoustic neuroma is a benign, usually slow growing, intracranial tumor of the vestibulocochlear nerve (cranial nerve VIII), the nerve that transmits information about hearing and balance from the inner ear to the brain. 14. Acoustic excitation and transmission of lightweight structures
Sammanfattning : In order to increase our knowledge of the sound transmission and radiation processes of lightweight wall and floor structures, theoretical models are needed. Detailed models may form a valuable tool. In lightweight floor structures, impact sound insulation is perhaps the most important property to consider. LÄS MER
15. Biomarker detection via lab-on-a-chip integrated immunoaffinity approach for fluorescence and mass spectrometry readout
Sammanfattning : The blood/plasma protein biomarker profile represents the pathological and physiological changes relating to human diseases. However, the plasma proteome reflects a high degree of complexity that results in a challenge for most analytical methods in clinical diagnostics. LÄS MER
