  3. 23. Population ecology of perch (Perca fluviatilis) in boreal lakes

    Författare :Arne Linløkken; Eva Bergman; Larry Greenberg; Anders Hargeby; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; perch; growth; size; mortality; temperature; acidification; density; roach; competition; Biology; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : I studied the effects of temperature, pH, competition and predation on Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis) in 30 lakes in Norway during 1981-2001. The study lakes were situated in two different areas in southern Norway; four lakes in Aust-Agder county in southernmost Norway were explored during 1981-1984 and 26 lakes in Hedmark county in south-eastern Norway were investigated during 1992-2001. 4. 24. DISCO - Drivers and Impacts of Coastal Ocean Acidification

    Författare :Laurie Charrieau; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coastal ocean acidification; Foraminifera; Environmental changes; pH; Salinity;

    Sammanfattning : Ocean acidification, mainly attributed to the increasing anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere, is characterised by a lowering pH together with a shift in the sea water carbonate chemistry toward lower concentration of carbonate ions. On the coasts, where the environmental variability is high due to natural and human impacts, ocean acidification mainly affects the frequency, magnitude, and duration of lower pH and lower calcium carbonate saturation events. 5. 25. Recovery from Acidification - Policy Oriented Dynamic Modeling

    Författare :Liisa Fransson; Institutioner vid LTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Petrology; mineralogy; geochemistry; Petrologi; mineralogi; geokemi; Chemical technology and engineering; target loads; sea-salt episode; sulfate adsorption; SAFE; LRTAP; critical loads; integrated assessment;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamic biogeochemistry models are important tools for determining the time-scales of recovery from acidification. In the review process of the 1999 UNECE LRTAP Gothenburg protocol, results from dynamic models will probably be included when determining further reductions of acidifying emissions. LÄS MER
