21. Data transmission in the presence of channel state information feedback
Sammanfattning : Novel communication techniques such as adaptive resource allocation are useful tools to increase the transmission efficiency and reliability of wireless networks. The main idea behind these techniques is to adapt some transmissionparameters, such as the transmission rate and power, based on the instantaneous channel quality. LÄS MER
22. Selected Topics on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces
Sammanfattning : Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is a promising technology for wireless communications applications. A RIS is a thin planar array that consists of multiple reflecting elements, each of which is connected to a tunable chip and can induce a controllable reflection coefficient to the incident signal. 23. Topics in Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio
Sammanfattning : Cognitive radio is a new concept of reusing licensed spectrum in an unlicensed manner. Cognitive radio is motivated by recent measurements of spectrum utilization, showing unused resources in frequency, time and space. The spectrum must be sensed to detect primary user signals, in order to allow cognitive radios in a primary system. LÄS MER
24. Cooperative Strategies in Multi-Terminal Wireless Relay Networks
Sammanfattning : Smart phones and tablet computers have greatly boosted the demand for services via wireless access points, keeping constant pressure on the network providers to deliver vast amounts of data over the wireless infrastructure. To enlarge coverage and enhance throughput, relaying has been adopted in the new generation of wireless communication systems, such as in the Long-Term Evolution Advanced standard, and will continue to play an important role in the next generation wireless infrastructure. 25. On Deterministic Models for Gaussian Networks
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study wireless networks modeled by the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) model. The AWGN capacity region of most network topologies is unknown, which means that the optimal transmission scheme is unknown as well. This motivates the search for capacity approximations and for approximately optimal schemes. LÄS MER
