    Sammanfattning : Severe accidents in a Light Water Reactor (LWR) have been a subject of intense research for the last three decades. The research in this area aims to reach understanding of the inherent physical phenomena and reduce the uncertainties in their quantification, with the ultimate goal of developing models that can be applied to safety analysis of nuclear reactors, and to evaluation of the proposed accident management schemes for mitigating the consequences of severe accidents. 4. 14. Analyzing real-world data to promote development of active safety systems that reduce car-to-vulnerable road user accidents

    Författare :Azra Habibovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accident prevention; Naturalistic observation; Causation analysis; Active safety system; Vulnerable road user VRU ; Driver behavior; Functional requirements; Statistical analysis; VRU behavior;

    Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the thesis is to explore various types of real-world road traffic data and to assess the extent to which they can inform the design of active safety systems that aim to prevent car-to-vulnerable road user (VRU) accidents. A combined analysis of in-depth and police reported accident data provided information on driver behavior and contextual variables, which is valuable for the development of active safety systems. 5. 15. Robustness During Learning, Interaction and Adaptation for Autonomous Driving

    Författare :Hannes Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Reinforcement Learning; Epistemic Uncertainty; Uncertainty Quantification; Machine Learning; Autonomous Driving;

    Sammanfattning : In a sequential decision-making process, it is imperative to consider the potential risks of taking incorrect decisions throughout the whole process as all wrongdoings may not be possible to be remedied. This is particularly important when there are potentially catastrophic consequences. LÄS MER
