  1. 16. Dosimetry of Radionuclide Therapy with 177Lu-octreotate

    Författare :Mattias Sandström; Hans Lundqvist; Mark Lubberink; Sven-Erik Strand; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; 177Lu-octreotate; Absorbed dose; Neuroendocrine tumour; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Sammanfattning : In radionuclide therapy it is still common to administer standard activities or to scale administered activity with blunt parameters such as body weight or surface area. This is not ideal because, due to considerable variation in kinetics, large safety margins have to be applied to avoid radiation damage to healthy organs, which causes under-treatment of many patients. 2. 17. Aspects on Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastrointestinal Neuroendocrine Tumours

    Författare :Christina Swärd; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Carcinoid; Endocrine pancreatic tumour; Neuroendocrine; Octreotide; Somatostatin receptor; Peptide receptor; Radionuclide therapy; Absorbed dose; Chromogranin A; Liver transplantation;

    Sammanfattning : Aspects on Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastrointestinal Neuroendocrine Tumours Background. Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs) originate from endocrine cells of the intestinal mucosa and pancreas. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Internal Dosimetry in Nuclear Fuel Fabrication : Occupational Exposure to Uranium Aerosols

    Författare :Edvin Hansson; Mats Eriksson; Håkan Pettersson; Per Roos; Michael Sandborg; Bastian Breustedt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Uranium; Aerosol; Internal; Dose; Nuclear;

    Sammanfattning : The production of nuclear fuel can be associated with occupational exposure to ionizing radiation from radioactive decay of uranium. Such exposure must be sufficiently low and radiation doses adequately determined. Radiation doses from internal exposure, i.e. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Developing and evaluating dose calculation models for verification of advanced radiotherapy

    Författare :Jörgen Olofsson; Mikael Karlsson; Anders Ahnesjö; Crister Ceberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiation therapy; high-energy photons; dose calculation; multi-source model; pencil kernel; uncertainties; action levels; Radiological physics; Radiofysik;

    Sammanfattning : A prerequisite for modern radiotherapy is the ability to accurately determine the absorbed dose (D) that is given to the patient. The subject of this thesis has been to develop and evaluate efficient dose calculation models for high-energy photon beams delivered by linear accelerators. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Secondary absorbed dose distributions and radiation quality in light ion therapy

    Författare :Martha Hultqvist; Irena Gudowska; Tatsuhiko Sato; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; secondary doses; light ion therapy; radiation quality; Monte Carlo simulation; Medical Radiation Physics; medicinsk strålningsfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Radiotherapy with light ions offers the possibility of achieving a dose distribution which is highly conformed to the target volume while sparing normal tissues. For ions heavier than protons, an additional advantage is the increased Relative Biological Effectiveness (RBE) as compared to conventional photon and electron beams. LÄS MER
