16. The Buried Oxide of Silicon on Insulator Materials
Sammanfattning : The buried oxide of silicon on insulator (SOI) wafers plays an important role in the operation of electronic devices made on such materials. The presence of defects in the buried oxide can seriously degrade the performance of a circuit. LÄS MER
17. Mechanistic studies of localized corrosion of Al alloys by high resolution in-situ and ex-situ probing techniques
Sammanfattning : A multi-analytical approach based on in-situ and ex-situ local probing techniques was employed to investigate localized corrosion mechanisms of some aluminum alloys in chloride containing solutions, focusing on the influence of intermetallic particles (IMPs) in the alloys. In the EN AW-3003 alloy, SEM-EDS analysis revealed constituent and dispersoid IMPs. LÄS MER
18. Industrial Alloys Studied by Surface Sensitive Techniques
Sammanfattning : This thesis reports on surface studies of industrial materials whose importance for society manifests in the vast range of applications. In industrial materials alloying is performed in order to improve the parent material's physical and mechanical properties such as strength, corrosion and wear resistance, as well as high temperature performance in comparison to the pure metal. 19. Ultrathin Oxides in Metal-Oxide-Silicon Structures: Defects and Characterization
Sammanfattning : The properties of metal-oxide-silicon (MOS) structures with ultrathin oxide layers (15-30 Å) have been investigated by means of electrical characterization. The characterization methods used were mainly capacitance voltage (C-V), current voltage (I-V) and constant voltage stress (I-t) measurements. LÄS MER
20. Strength analysis and modeling of hybrid composite-aluminum aircraft structures
Sammanfattning : The current trend in aircraft design is to increase the proportion of fiber composites in the structures. Since many primary parts also are constructed using metals, the number of hybrid metal-composite structures is increasing. LÄS MER
