  1. 1. Systematics of polyploid Dactylorhiza (Orchidaceae) - genetic diversity, phylogeography and evolution

    Författare :Sofie Olofsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microsatellites; allozymes; ITS; plastid DNA; Dactylorhiza majalis ssp. traunsteineri; allopolyploidy; AFLPs; immigration history; diploidization; hybridization;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines genetic variation in allotetraploids of the Dactylorhiza incarnata/maculata polyploid complex in different parts of Europe. The molecular markers used were AFLPs, allozymes, ITS, nuclear microsatellites and plastid DNA markers. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Adjusting to the extreme : Thermal adaptation in a freshwater gastropod

    Författare :Magnus Johansson; Laurila Anssi; Robby Stoks; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Radix balthica; Lake Mývatn; geothermal springs; thermal adaptation; isolation by environment; population structure; gene flow; cogradient variation; AFLP; thermal preference; CTmax; Biologi med inriktning mot populationsbiologi; Biology with specialization in Population Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Temperature is a ubiquitous force influencing biological processes ranging from cellular responses to life span. The thermal environment for many organisms is predicted to change with globally increasing temperatures and studies conducted in natural systems incorporating various evolutionary forces, such as gene flow, is needed. 4. 4. Genetic dissection of quantitative traits in Scots pine

    Författare :Sara Abrahamsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The phenotypic expressions of Scots pine, have been extensively studied over the years, but the gene regulation behind the traits has only just begun to be elucidated. The overall aim of this thesis was to start dissecting the genetics behind a number of adaptive traits in Scots pine and examine how they are influenced by relatedness using different molecular tools.
