  1. 1. Radiological methods in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis

    Författare :Tomas Söderman; Adel Shalabi; Anders Sundin; Suzanne Werner; Marie-Louise Wretling; Seppo Koskinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rheumatoid arthritis; Cervical spine; Radiography; Computed tomography; Magnetic resonance imaging; ACL reconstruction; Knee laxity; Long-term evaluation; Osteoarthritis; KOOS; SF-36; Tegners Activity Scale; IKDC; Quality of life; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The dissertation's theme is the critical role of radiology when evaluating two different groups of patients. Firstly, patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) of the cervical spine were studied to evaluate upper spine instability with dynamic computed tomography (CT). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Rehabilitation following bone-patellar tendon-bone graft ACL reconstruction

    Författare :Christina Mikkelsen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ACL injury; ACL reconstruction; ACL rehabilitation; Anterior knee laxity; Closed kinetic chain; Extension deficit; Functional outcome score; Gender; Hyperextension brace; Isokinetic open kinetic chain; KOOS; KT-1000 arthrometer; Patello femoral pain; Personality characteristics; Physical activity; Quadriceps torque; Range of motion;

    Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this Thesis was to improve treatment and rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare closed kinetic chain (CKC) training and a combination of closed and open kinetic chain (OKC) quadriceps exercises following ACL reconstruction on anterior knee laxity and isokinetic muscle torque. 3. 3. Long-term consequences of anterior cruciate ligament injury : knee function, physical activity level, physical capacity and movement pattern

    Författare :Eva Tengman; Charlotte Häger; Eva Ageberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ACL injury; cross-sectional design; isokinetic; peak torque; centre of pressure; kinematics; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Knee function after more than 20 years post injury is rarely described and none of the few follow-up studies have evaluated functional performance tasks. This thesis investigated self-reported knee function, physical activity level, physical capacity and movement pattern in the long-term perspective (on average 23 years) in persons who had suffered a unilateral ACL injury, treated either with physiotherapy in combination with surgery (ACLR, n=33) or physiotherapy alone (ACLPT, n=37) and compared to age-and-gender matched controls (n=33). 4. 4. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction : studies on morbidity, function and health-related quality of life

    Författare :Björn Barenius; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :anterior cruciate ligament ACL ; morbidity;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the effects of graft choice, time between injury and reconstruction and injuries to the menisci on knee function and the health-related quality of life after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. In Study I, 153 patients were assessed at a mean 8 years after randomisation to an ACL reconstruction with a bone-patellar tendon-bone or four-strand semitendinosus tendon graft. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft : postoperative intervention and influential factors for patient-relevant long-term outcome

    Författare :Eva Möller; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ACL injury; knee laxity; clinical outcome; KOOS; long-term follow-up; postoperative knee brace; sagittal knee laxity; SF-36.;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the present thesis was to assess patient-relevant outcome after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and to improve the knowledge of which factors that may predict longterm outcome after bone-patellar tendon-bone ACL reconstruction. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of a brace after ACL reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft on knee stability and knee function two years after surgery.
