  1. 16. FtsH metalloproteases and their pseudo-proteases in the chloroplast envelope of Arabidopsis thaliana

    Författare :Laxmi S. Mishra; Christiane Funk; Magnus Wolf-Watz; Catherine de Vitry; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Arabidopsis thaliana; AAA-ATPases; abscisic acid; chloroplast; drought; embryo-lethal; FtsH metalloprotease; intrinsic water-use efficiency WUEi ; leaf variegation; outdoor conditions; oxidative stress; plastid biogenesis; proteomics; protein import; root-associated bacterial communities seedlings; Biochemistry; biokemi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology; biology; biologi;

    Sammanfattning : By cleaving peptide bonds, proteases either activate or degrade proteins and maintain protein quality control in response to various developmental stimuli and environmental factors. My work has focused on elucidating the role of the filamentation temperature sensitive protein H (FtsH) proteases. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Magnesium Chelatase: Insights into the first Step of Chlorophyll Biosynthesis

    Författare :Nick Sirijovski; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron microscopy; Proteobacteria; Mutants; Rhodobacter capsulatus; Tetrapyrrole; Plant biochemistry; Växtbiokemi; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Proteins; enzymologi; enzymology; Proteiner; Chlorophyll biosynthesis; AAA proteins; Magnesium chelatase; Barley; ATPase;

    Sammanfattning : The enzyme magnesium chelatase inserts magnesium into protoporphyrin IX (Proto) to produce to magnesium protoporphyrin IX, the first unique intermediate of the chlorophyll biosynthetic pathway. Magnesium chelatase is composed of three distinct proteins termed I (molecular weight ~40 kDa), D (~70 kDa) and H (~140 kDa). LÄS MER

  3. 18. EVAR of AAA: Long term outcomes, disease progression and risk stratification

    Författare :Mohammed Abdulrasak; Vaskulära sjukdomar - kliniska studier; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; abdominal aortic aneurysm; Endovascular aortic repair; ilio-femoral calcium score; type Ia endoleak;

    Sammanfattning : BackgroundEndovasvular aortic repair (EVAR) is the most commonly utilised technique for the treatment of abdominal aorticaneurysms (AAA) in tertiary referral centers. Detailed long-term outcomes of this technique are relatively scarce,especially for patients presenting symptomatically with AAA. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Oxidative stress-related factors in abdominal aortic aneurysm: potential clinical implications

    Författare :Sakshi Vats; Allmänmedicin och klinisk epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; abdominal aortic aneurysm AAA ; mitochondria; Heme; Oxidative stress; Genetics; Epigenetic;

    Sammanfattning : Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a mostly silent vascular disease, with a rupture-related mortality rate exceeding 80%. To aid in future diagnosis and prognosis efforts, the studies included in the present thesis have explored the role of specific oxidative stress-related factors in the context of AAA using two population-based cohorts: AAA screening cohort of 65-year-old males (n = 421) and the Malmö diet and cancer study (MDCS) (n = 25252). 5. 20. Stiffness and aneurysm of the aorta. Relations to vascular aging, hyperglycemia, and inflammation

    Författare :Soumia Taimour; Vaskulära sjukdomar - kliniska studier; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aortic stiffness; Hyperglycaemia; abdominal aortic aneurysm AAA ;

    Sammanfattning : A well-functioning arterial system for the transport of oxygen to the cells is essential for human health. The aorta has a key role for the provision of this physiological effect. Disturbances to aortic function can lead to majorsymptoms and even death due to ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
