21. Protein supply in organic broiler production using fast-growing hybrids : welfare and performance aspects
Sammanfattning : The broiler's requirements of sulphur amino acids (AA) are high; however, currently available organic protein feedstuffs generally contain only low levels. According to national organic standards, fast-growing broilers in organic production are allowed to be slaughtered at 70 d, provided that their average growth rate does not exceed 50 g/day. LÄS MER
22. Studies of nucleotide receptors-induced calcium response in glomerular mesangial cells and afferent arterioles
Sammanfattning : It is known that intracellular calcium concentration ([Ca2+]i) changes in rat glomerular mesangial cells (GMC) and rabbit afferent arterioles (AA) in response to extracellular nucleotides. We studied the nucleotide-induced calcium response in cultured GMC and AA. LÄS MER
23. Sources of Arachidonic Acid in Platelets, Bone, Marrow and Gastrointestinal Tract
Sammanfattning : This study investigates pathways by which the eicosanoid precursor pools in the platelets, bone marrow and the gastrointestinal (GI) mucosa are acquired and regulated, and in this context some aspects on the interaction between triglyceride (TG)-rich lipoproteins and platelets. 1. 24. Aplastic anemia - a population-based study of epidemiology, treatment, and prognostic factors
Sammanfattning : Background and aims. Aplastic anemia (AA) is a rare but life-threatening disease. The introduction of immunosuppressive treatment (IST) and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) has considerably improved the outcome of patients with AA. However, modern-day population-based data are limited. LÄS MER
25. Metabolic impact of certain dietary proteins and/or amino acids - Glycaemic and hormonal responses to carbohydrate meals in healthy subject
Sammanfattning : Re-occurring hyperglycaemic episodes promote subclinical low-grade inflammation and CVD in type 2 diabetes, emphasising the therapeutic role of tight blood glucose regulation. A tight blood glucose regulation is probably beneficial also in healthy subjects and mild elevations in postprandial glycaemia and triglycerides are associated with impaired flow-mediated dilation and increased markers of oxidative stress in young healthy subjects.
