1. Remote sensing of supra-glacial lakes on the west Greenland Ice Sheet
Sammanfattning : The Greenland Ice Sheet is the largest ice sheet in the northern hemisphere. Ongoing melting of the ice sheet, resulting in increased mass loss relative to the longer term trend, has raised concerns about the stability of the ice sheet. Melt water generated at the surface is temporarily stored in supra-glacial lakes on the ice sheet. LÄS MER
2. Monitoring lithospheric motions by Satellite geodesy
Sammanfattning : Understanding of global and local Earth’s dynamic processes is of great importance to the Earth’s system knowledge, human life, and sustainability goals (e.g. climatic change and geo-hazard assessment, etc.). LÄS MER
3. Infant gut microbiota, immune responses and allergic disease during childhood
Sammanfattning : The early-life microbiota is important for postnatal immune maturation and implied in immune mediated diseases. The aim of this work was to study specific species of bacteria in the gut microbiota and relate them to immune function and allergic disease during childhood. LÄS MER
4. Temporal and spatial dynamics in subarctic peat plateaus and thermokarst lakes
Sammanfattning : Permafrost peatlands are widespread at high northern latitudes and are important soil organic carbon reservoirs. A future warming in these areas, as suggested by global climate models, can cause thawing and increased ground subsidence (thermokarst), resulting in changes in surface hydrology and ecosystem functioning. 5. Structural, thermal and thermodynamic properties of some Ln-Pd oxides and their behaviour as catalyst precursors
Sammanfattning : The structural, thermal and thermodynamic properties of some Ln-Pd oxides of the Ln4Pd07 type are presented. The main results are; (i) Reduction of Ln4Pd07, either ex-situ by CO or in-situ by a synthetic car exhaust gas, results in a materialwith catalytic activity for car exhaust gas clean-up reactions.
