6. Noise emissions from sustainable transport : A multi-scale modeling approach
Sammanfattning : Noise emissions from transportation remain one of the greatest environmental issues of modern day. Inhabitants in urban environments are especially exposed, with almost 80 million people in the European Union exposed to noise levels exceeding the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization (WHO). 7. Hadronic Structure Measurements of the Photon by DELPHI at LEP II
Sammanfattning : This thesis is mainly an analysis of data taken by the VSAT detector in the DELPHI experiment at the LEP II collider at CERN. The analysis spans from 1998 to 2000, with a center of mass energy ranging from 189 to 206 GeV. LÄS MER
8. Development of Multi-Dimensional Laser Techniques for In-situ Combustion Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : Multi-dimensional, laser-based measurements of quantities important for obtaining a better understanding of combustion processes, particularly of temperature and of species distributions, were performed using laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). The main purpose of the temperature experiments was to investigate the potential of employing a two-line atomic fluorescence technique (TLAF), using indium as the tracer species, in sooting environments such as in diesel engines. 9. Nedläggningen av NCB i Köpmanholmen : en studie av de hushållsekonomiska konsekvenserna
Sammanfattning : This study deals with the consequences for household economy in connection with unemployment. Various mechanisms that influence the relationship between unemployment and the reception of supplementary benefits are described and analyzed. LÄS MER
10. A mouse model for direct evaluation of cholera vaccines
Sammanfattning : Cholera continues to be an important cause of morbidity and mortality in large parts of the developing world and is a significant negative factor for economic development. Vibrio cholerae bacteria of the O1 or O139 serogroup can cause disease due to their ability to colonize the intestine and produce an enterotoxin, cholera toxin (CT). LÄS MER
