  1. 1. Characterisation of the Neutron Wall and of Neutron Interactions in Germanium-Detector Systems

    Författare :Joa Ljungvall; Johan Nyberg; Andres Gadea; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; High-purity Ge detectors; Liquid scintillator detectors; Neutron scattering; Digital electronics; Time-of-flight technique; Pulse-shape simulation and analysis; Monte Carlo simulations; Geant4; Gamma-ray tracking; AGATA; Neutron Wall; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : A Monte Carlo simulation of the Neutron Wall detector system has been performed using Geant4, in order to define optimum conditions for the detection and identification of multiple neutrons. Emphasis was put on studying the scattering of neutrons between different detectors, which is the main source of the apparent increase of the number of detected neutrons. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Development and characterization of sensitive, energy-independent solid-state photon dosemeters with high spatial and temporal resolution. Applications in clinical radiology and radiation protection

    Författare :Lars Herrnsdorf; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Si PIN; sensor; detector; dosemeter; CT; CBCT; dose profile; CTDP; R100; SiPM; Medipix; MCNP; AM; 4π detector; ACA; flex card micro assembly;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractModern medicine and health care rely on a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and methods that involve ionizing radiation. To guarantee quality and the safety of patients and staff, advanced radiation detectors and dosemeters are needed that have low energy and operate with directional independence for X-ray and γ-ray photons. 3. 3. Measurement of the Reaction pp→ppπ+π-π0 with CELSIUS/WASA at 1.36 GeV

    Författare :Marek Jacewicz; Sven Kullander; Hans Ströher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik;

    Sammanfattning : A versatile detector setup prepared by the CELSIUS/WASA collaboration for exclusive studies of rare processes produced in proton and deuteron collisions with hydrogen and deuterium pellet targets is presented. For the near-threshold production of light mesons, π0 and η, the scattered beam and target particles are measured in the forward detector, while the products of the decaying mesons are registered in a central detector covering close-to-4π sr. Författare :Jenny Regina; Karin Schönning; Michael Papenbrock; Pawel Marciniewski; Sophie Grape; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PANDA; FAIR; hyperons; track reconstruction; online; cellular automaton; 4D tracking; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : The PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilation at DArmstadt) experiment at the future FAIR (Facility for Anti-proton and Ion Research) offers unique possibilities for performing hyperon physics.The almost full 4π coverage of the detector will enable the reconstruction of both hyperon and antihyperon which will be created together in proton-antiproton collisions.
