  1. 1. Light shapes spaces : experience of distribution of light and visual spatial boundaries

    Författare :Ulrika Wänström Lindh; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Practise-based design research; distribution of light; lighting design; architecture; enclosure; perceived dimensions; atmosphere; light zones; light topography; visual spatial boundaries; Practise-based design research; distribution of light; lighting design; architecture; enclosure; perceived dimensions; atmosphere; light zones; light topography; visual spatial boundaries;

    Sammanfattning : Light enables us to experience space. The distribution of light is vital for spatial experience but has not been the main focus of previous research on lighting. The lighting designer’s professional knowledge is to a great extent experience-based and tacit. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Essays on firm dynamics in the Swedish wholesale trade sector

    Författare :Zuzana Macuchova; Niklas Rudholm; Daniel Brandt; Martin Andersson; Högskolan Dalarna; []

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation consists of four chapters which study early modern merchant capitalism, with a special focus upon the developing Atlantic economy. The introductory chapter is followed by chapter 2, studying the issue of market integration and price convergence in inter-continental trade during the early modern period. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Neocortical layer 2/3 microcircuits

    Författare :Carl Holmgren; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Neocortical microcircuit; layer 2 3; pyramidal cell; FSN interneuron; retrograde signaling; VGLUT3; spike-timing dependent plasticity; LTP; LTD.;

    Sammanfattning : Pairs of interconnected neurons form elementary information processing units within neocortical microcircuits. Pyramidal cells within these microcircuits receive synaptic input, both from their connected partners, and from more distant cortical and sub-cortical regions. Consequently, they require a means to identify relevant synaptic signals. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Biological processes in the human body are regulated through complex and precise arrangements of cell structures and their interactions. In vivo models serve as the most accurate choice for biological studies to understand these processes. However, they are costly, time-consuming, and raise ethical issues. LÄS MER
