  1. 1. Lipoproteomics : A New Approach to the Identification and Characterization of Proteins in LDL and HDL

    Författare :Helen Karlsson; Mats Lindahl; Christer Tagesson; Pia Davidsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LDL; HDL; Proteomik; Atheroskleros; Masspektrometri; 2-DE; Molecular medicine; Molekylär medicin;

    Sammanfattning : A proteomic approach was applied to examine the protein composition of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in humans. LDL and HDL were isolated by density gradient ultracentrifugation, and proteins were separated with twodimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and identified with peptide mass fingerprinting, using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry, and with amino acid sequencing using electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry. 2. 2. Innate Immune Proteins in a Crustacean Pacifastacus leniusculus

    Författare :Chenglin Wu; Irene Söderhäll; petr Kopácek; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 2-DE; hematopoiesis; marker protein; melaniztion inhibiting protein; proPO-system; pattern recognition protein; PGN; ficolin-like protein; Immunology; Immunologi; Biology with specialization in Comparative Physiology; Biologi med inriktning mot jämförande fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Hemocytes (blood cells) are important in the immune defense against pathogens in invertebrates. In crusteacean, the hemocytes and plasma components mount a strong innate immune response against different pathogens including bacteria and virus. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Proteomic profiles and gene expressions in the symbiotically competent cyanobacterium Nostoc sp. PCC 73102

    Författare :Liang Ran; Birgitta Bergman; Karl Forchhammer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Nostoc PCC 73102; hormogonia; 2-DE; symbiosis; photo-autotrophy; heterotrophy; cell differentiation; Microbiology; Mikrobiologi; mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Nostoc PCC 73102 is an evolutionary important cyanobacterium with multiple phenotypic traits and symbiotic capacities. Based on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, a proteomic approach was developed in order to obtain protein profiles of this symbiotically competent cyanobacterium during three trophic types/life stages: free-living photo-autotrophic and diazotrophic growth conditions, dark heterotrophic conditions and hormogonium formation. 4. 4. Helicobacter pylori cell surface interactions with glycosaminoglycans. Identification and characterisation of proteins binding to heparin/heparan sulphate

    Författare :Meeme Utt; Celiaki och diabetes; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SELDI-TOF MS; bioinformatics; proteomics; immunoblotting; 2-DE; biosensor; heparan sulphate; heparin; binding; Helicobacter pylori; cell surface; bakteriologi; Mikrobiologi; mycology; bacteriology; Microbiology; mykologi; virologi; virology;

    Sammanfattning : Helicobacter pylori is a gastric pathogen which cause chronic type B gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. H. pylori produces virulence factors such as urease, vacuolating cytotoxin VacA, cag pathogenicity island-associated proteins, flagella and adhesins. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Prognostic and treatment predictive factors for radio- and chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer patients- a step towards personlized medicine

    Författare :Emma Niméus; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; 2-DE; cyclin B1; breast cancer; radioresistance; immunohistochemistry; chemotherapy resistance; gene expression; treatment prediction; prognosis;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is the most common cancer form among women in the Western world. Although treatment has improved during the last decades, there is still a significant proportion of the patients who are not cured. LÄS MER
